Before you wire
6 cautions- The header order is not the DevKitM-1's: J1 pin 4 is RST here, IO2 there. Re-check a harness moved between the two boards.
- GPIO2, GPIO8, and GPIO9 are strapping pins; a pull-up or pull-down at reset changes the boot mode.
- GPIO8 also drives the addressable RGB LED, so anything wired to it fights the LED driver.
- GPIO18 and GPIO19 carry USB-JTAG by default and only become GPIOs once the driver disables it.
- 3V3, 5V, and the Micro-USB port are mutually exclusive supplies.
- IO pins are 3.3 V logic — do not drive them from a 5 V source.

- Positions 1-15 are J1 pins 1-15; positions 16-30 are J3 pins 1-15.
- Espressif: "GPIO2, GPIO8 and GPIO9 are strapping pins" — external pulls on these at reset change boot mode.
- Espressif: "GPIO 18 and 19 are used by USB-JTAG by default. In order to use them as GPIOs, USB-JTAG will be disabled by the drivers."
- The Micro-USB port reaches the chip through a USB-to-UART bridge, so it is not wired to GPIO18/GPIO19.
- 3V3, 5V, and the Micro-USB port are mutually exclusive supplies; do not feed two at once.

Revision notes
- J1 and J3 follow the official ESP32-C3-DevKitC-02 header numbering, which is not the DevKitM-1 order.
